About Me

My photo
I'm Andrea. I'm a wife, mother, full-time computer software developer who seems to never have enough time to do everything I want to do. I married my high school sweetheart, who also happens to be my best friend. I love photography and am a total "mommarazzi" to my son Dillon. I grew up in the South, so I have always been loved, and also love others, with food. So my idea of a good time, is getting together with family and friends, eating some great food, and documenting the whole thing with my camera. So, "food, family, and photos" pretty much sums it up!

Love that Shot Link-up!

I wanted to post my photo of Murphy again for my entry for the Love That Shot link-up (hope you're not tired of the photo yet, I know I'm not!) This photo collage is my interpretation of the theme of "Love" because Murphy gives us such unbelievable, unconditional love. No matter what, he always greats us at the door when we get home with a wagging tail and a doggy grin. Seeing his furry face always warms my heart and brightens my day!

Free and AWESOME!

So, I downloaded the new MCP Mini Fusion action for free here and it is awesome! I just love the look that it adds and how customizable it is. I used it on some pictures of Murphy that I took the other day, check it out!

All photos processed with the MCP Mini Fusion Action. Template from The Coffeeshop Blog.

And here's a before and after. The difference here is subtle, but I love the detail and sharpness that the action brings out.
Go get this action! You'll love it, too!

Dillon and the Plasma Car

So after playing with a "plasma car" at one of the stores in Concord Mills and also at our neighbors' house, we ended up getting Dillon one, too. If you haven't seen one of these things, they are really cool. The car moves when the handles are twisted back and forth. I got Dillon's from Amazon.

The template I used for these pictures is from The Coffeeshop Blog.

MCP Actions Blog - Project 52, Week 7

Photographically speaking, this has been a great week! It's also been a pretty nice week, weather-wise, especially considering that it's February. The forecast is calling for mid-70's today, so I'm looking forward to getting outside later.
Anyway, it's week 7 of the MCP 52 week project and I had a really hard time picking which photo to use. I had pictures of my Valentine's bouquet, Dillon, and Murphy. I'll try and get organized enough to post some of the other photos later.

I ended up using a photo of Murphy, since I thought it really went with the theme of "open your heart". We adopted Murphy from a local pet rescue organization in 2005. So, I'd like to ask that anyone considering adding a pet to their family please "open your heart" to the idea of adopting from a shelter or other rescue organization. I have loved all my "mutts" through the years but if you're looking for a specific breed of dog, there are a surprising number of pure-bred animals at shelters, as well. You can even check out the PetFinder site to see some of the pets available in your area.

I used the Smitten and Milk actions from Florabella's Luxe II set on this image.

MCP Actions Blog - Project 52, Week 6

Ok, whew! I'm finally caught up again, we'll see how long this lasts...

Anyway, I have my photo for week 6 of the MCP 52 week project ready. The theme this week was "Words". I used a photo of one of my absolute favorite wedding gifts. One of my wonderful elementary teachers, Mrs. Lester, had mine and Ron's wedding invitation matted and framed for us. I always thought it was just so beautiful and I think of her thoughtfulness every time I see it. I used textures from Chasing Dreams (that I won in a contest on the Prop Insanity blog) on this photo.

Week 6 - Theme: Words
"I Do"

MCP Actions Blog - Project 52, Week 5

The theme for week 5 was "Muse" and my muse is, of course, my little man. Dillon was looking out the window in the back of the house and I loved the way he was mirrored in the window and the soft light on his face. I used Baby Powder Room and Butterscotch Vintage actions from the CoffeeShop Blog on this photo.

Week 5 - Theme: Muse
"Reflection"

MCP Actions Blog - Project 52, Week 4

The theme for the 4th week of the MCP Project 52 was "soothing repitition". I struggled with this one for some reason. I ended up using a photo of the trees in our backyard when they were covered with ice. I loved the sparkly sunset behind the trees. I used free textures from Kim Klassen on this photo.
